4 months old!!!

Today is Dane's "un" birthday. I cannot believe how fast these past 4 months has gone. He is changing so much from day to day. We go to the Dr Monday for Dane's 4 month check up, which also requires more shots. I am not looking forward to that, but I am looking forward to seeing how much he has grown since his last visit and find out what a 4 month old is suppose to be doing, eating etc. I have a feeling that he has grown alot! Everyday it seems like he is learning more and more. This morning Dane figured out he has toes. It is so cute to watch him bring his legs up and reach out and grab his toes. Also, Dane loves to stand while holding someone's hands and he has really gotten good at holding everything he puts his hands on. My baby is growing up so fast.

Nannaw & Dane

Nannaw came to watch Dane this past week, since Kevin still had one more week of school. We really enjoyed having her around and had such a great week. I know Dane got the best care while I was away at work. Nannaw is known for making babies smell so good. Everyday I would come home to find Dane with the best smelling head in town! If you want to learn how to love unconditionally then you should hang out with Nannaw. She is the sweetest person, and loves everyone no matter what they have done or will do. I am so thankful to have a grandmother like her. She is a true example of what God teaches us to be!

I love you Nannaw...Thank you for watching Dane!

Overalls- a requirement to live in Orange

Dane and I took another over night visit to Orange this weekend to see the family. I wanted to take some pictures of Dane and Poppy in their matching overalls because I thought they would make some cute pictures, and because the only pictures I have of the two of them is in David's lazy boy. So we made Poppy put his on, a special request from Dane. The weather was beautiful and my mom's yard looks great so the pictures turned out so much better than I thought they would. Dane was so intrigued by the grass. We had a hard time getting him to look at the camera. My mom and I both would continously yell his name (which by the way he does not seem to know yet) trying to get him to look up at the camera! I think he looks so cute in his overalls. Poppy looks cute too! :)

Our 'lil swimmer

We took Dane to out neighborhood pool this afternoon and had such a good time. Dane wasn't bothered by the water at all. He must have thought it was just a Big bathtub. We hung out in the baby pool since the big one was packed. We were only able to stay like 30 minutes because it was so HOT, and I didn't want him to get burned. He was just the cutest little thing with his bathing suit and hat on and his baby gut hanging out. There will be several pool moments this summer, I'm sure.

New Generation...New Best Friends

So here's a little flash back:

Summer of "98 I left Orange to go to the big city of Huntsville to go to college at Sam Houston State. I was terrified, but excited at the same time because I didn't know anyone there. I decided to rush Chi Omega (Hootie Hoo!) to meet some girlfriends. Something very ironic ended up happening...I met Tabitha, who also happens to be from Orange. We didn't know each other in high school, but we clicked right from the beginning. So from that moment on we were inseparable...did everything together. We have been best friends ever since.

Even today we still do important things together...we both ended up pregnant at the same time. It wasn't a planned event, but we were so excited to be doing it together.

Today, Dane and I drove to BayTown to meet Tab and Gage for lunch. It was so much fun for the boys to finally meet. Now instead of our normal gossip Tab and I talked about what the boys were doing, how they were growing etc. It is hilarious how conversations change as you get older! :) We know the boys will be best friends just like their mothers when they get bigger!!!

Evening at the Park

It actually felt really nice this afternoon around 6ish. There was a nice breeze and no humidity, so Kevin and I took advantage and decided it would be fun to go to the park by our neighborhood. We had checked it out previously and saw that there was a baby swing, and thought Dane might enjoy it. The swing was a little too big for him now but, in a couple more months I think Dane will have fun in it. It was nice to be outside though, and not be sweating to death. I wish the whole summer could be as nice as it was this evening!

Sneak Preview

This is a sneak preview of what is to come!! We are already in the high 90's here in Houston so what is a better way to cool off than to go swimming. I can not wait to put Dane in the water and see his reaction. So today we tried on his bathing suit to make sure that it fits. Kevin will be the designated swim partner since I absolutely refuse to get in a bathing suit this year, and I will be the proud mom standing from the sidelines taking a 100 pictures of my big boy. We will have to do the swimming in either the mornings or late evenings so no one gets burned...we are a pale group! :) So anyway, stay tuned for that!

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Wittschen for all your help the past 3 weeks with watching Dane!

These are some pictures that Jackie took while I was away at work:

But Mom...I'm not tired!

Nap time during the day can still be a struggle sometimes. Dane will be asleep in your arms, but the second you put him down his little head pops up and he gives you the look like...Nope it is not going to happen! It is the cutest face ever! He will just stare at you and refuse to lay his head down until you pick him up again! Sometimes he will even flash his "I have you tied around my finger" smile where your heart just melts and you say "ok Dane I will hold you some more"! But, don't be fooled...I am not complaining. He has mastered sleeping through the night finally, so I will take that any day! Woohoo!!

Happy Feet...or not so happy!

So yesterday I was all excited to put Dane in is new sandals. He looks so adorable and grown up in them. At first Dane kept staring at them like he was wondering what was on his feet. So Kevin and I went to run errands, and usually if Dane has been fed and changed he generally likes to ride in the car. But we noticed that he was fussing alot in the back seat. We kept saying to each other "what is with him today?" Dane is very happy baby so when he is fussing it is usually for a good reason. Kevin ran into a store and Dane and I stayed in the car. The whimpers started getting louder. So I got out of the car and when I opened the back door Dane was kicking his feet and was showing alot of frustration. Surely it couldn't be the sandals! I took them off and I'm not kidding when I say instantly he stopped fussing and was back to his normal self! We tried again this morning when we went to church...same thing happened in the car. So needless to say he went to church without his new sandals! I guess Dane is not going to be a shoe person like his mommy! Oh well...

Say Hello to my little Friend

Putting Dane in front of a mirror is the best form of cheap entertainment. Everytime Dane has a bath his little "friend" shows up as well. How ironic! Dane smiles and talks to him like they are best buds. It is so cute to see his face light up when he sees himself!

"Hey Buddy...It's nice seeing you again!"
