Half Way Mark

Dane's new thing...pulling his bottom lip in; he does it over and over

Today Dane has reached his half way mark to being the Big 1. It is a bitter/sweet moment for me. I'm loving this stage that he is in. He is getting so much personality and is so much fun, but at the same time I'm sad that his 1st 6 months have gone by so fast. We go to the doctor on Monday for his 6 month checkup for more dreaded shots. I love finding out how much he has grown since the last visit.

I'm such a big boy now!

My new paci...thanks Poppy; at first I didn't like it, but now it works just fine!!

One of my new toys...It has weights at the bottom, so when you hit it, it bounces right back!!! I think mommy likes it more than I do!!!

Squealer

I had Dane sitting on my lap as I uploaded several videos to our computer. I wish everyone could see how he reacted to seeing himself scream on the computer. It was the funnest thing. Everytime Dane would scream on the video, he would stop and stare at the computer, and then get a huge smile. He was probably thinking that this little guy screams just like him! Too cute!!

Bible Dedication

This morning was a special day at church for Dane. Dane was presented in front of our church and then received a small new testament bible with his name on it. In a few more months, Kevin and I will stand in front of our church and commit to raising him in a christian home. We both want Dane to grow up healthy and strong, not only physically but spiritually as well. Both set of grandparents came with us to church this morning to be a part of the dedication. We have a lot to be thankful. Dane is a happy, healthy baby, and we have a loving family who stands behind us.

Road Trip

This weekend we took a family road trip all the way to Manderville Louisiana, so Dane could meet his great grandmother and aunt for the very first time. It was quite an adventure getting there, to say the least. Before we were even out of Cypress we stopped at starbucks to get our morning fuel. I thought it would be a good idea to change his diaper at that time...to my surprise Dane had made quite the mess. There was poo everywhere, including all over my clothes and his. It took all 4 of us to clean Dane, me and the car seat. So we got going a little later than planned. Then once we got closer to the Louisiana border we came across a road sign that said I10 was closed in Lafayette because of a chemical spill. We had to take an alternate road which put us on a one lane road in bumper to bumper traffic. It took us an additional 3 hours to get where we were going. Something ironic happened when we stopped for gas in Lafayette...reporters were there interviewing people about the traffic, and interviewed Jackie. Our story ended up on the front page of the Lafayette Paper!!

The trip was much better than the drive over. It was great to see the original Grandma Wittschen and Aunt Barby. Kevin's grandfather was the first Wittschen to have Crawford as his name. It was suppose to be his first name, but the military accidentally put it as his middle name. The tradition has continued with Barry, Kevin and now Dane all having Crawford as their middle names. We had a really nice time visiting. Also Grandma gave Dane the cutest first bible with his name on it, and also his set of first dishes. We will be able to treasure these gifts forever. I'm so glad that we were able to make it over to Cajun town!!

Some pictures to leave you with

We will be leaving early Thursday morning to venture off to New Orleans, to visit Kevin's grandmother and aunt. So we will be away from our computer until Sunday. I didn't want everyone to go a whole week without seeing pictures of the little man. It is going to be a long drive, so everyone pray that Dane will be content in his car seat for the duration of the trip. I will post pictures from the trip asap!!! Have a great weekend!!!

An Eventful weekend

J.T and Lauren came to Houston to stay with us for the weekend. There is never a dull moment when those two are around. J.T. was content playing video games, and Lauren just wanted to be wherever Dane was. So Saturday we took them bowling, which was a lot of fun. We divided up into girls vs boys. I think Kevin might have toned down his game to make it more of a fair match. Lauren held her own though. She did really well. Later that night we headed off to watch the Astros play. J.T., who has never been to Minute Maid, was speechless! He couldn't believe how big it was! Astros ended up beating the Cubs! It was a good, but very busy weekend.

I promise we feed our baby!!!

Wrestling Daddy

I think Dane is definitely going to be all BOY! He already likes to wrestle with Kevin, and rough house (as much as you can rough house a 5 1/2 month old). Dane was laughing so hard when Kevin was playing with him like this. Dane has a secret weapon though...his drool! Kevin was soaking wet when they were done! I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into with having a boy!! I was not a tomboy at all! I hated to get dirty or sweaty, which I still hate to this day! :) It should be interesting to see how I react the first time Dane brings in a frog or little critter into the house!

I'm going to get you!

I got you just where I want you!!!

This is so much fun!

I'm going to eat your nose!!

Antique Tub

My mom had this tub at her house, so I borrowed it to take some pictures of Dane with it. I think I need to get a lighter background because of how dark the tub is. One day I will figure out all the tricks of the trade. But, I am enjoying trying to be creative with photgraphing Dane at the moment.

Blogger Slacker!

Yes I know...I have been falling behind on my blogger duties this week. It has been one of those weeks. We have been very busy, and work has been very tiring. The days I worked this week wore me out, so I did not have the energy to blog! So here are some random pictures from this week. Enjoy!
