Rain Rain Go Away!!

As you all know the hurricane is on it's way!! Here in Cypress we should be okay, but Orange may be hit hard again. After hurricane Rita it has taken a couple years to start getting Orange back up and running. I have several family members preparing to leave town, and head over to our house tomorrow or Monday. David will have to stay behind again this year to get Orange ready for the hurricane and deal with the aftermath. Please pray for the safety of all the officers that will still be in Orange, and for everyone that will be traveling. Kevin's grandmother and aunt will be traveling from New Orleans as well, so please remember them and all the thousands that will be driving from there.

Also, my cousin Lindsay is suppose to be getting married this coming Saturday in Beaumont. This hurricane is kind of raining on her parade, no pun intended. There is a high chance that the wedding may not be able to happen there if the hurricane hits the Louisiana/ Texas border due to everyone evacuating and any damage that may be caused. They have been planning her big day for months and months, so you can imagine how she is feeling. She does have a plan B though. The wedding may be moved to San Antonio... long story. So please just pray for her and her family's stress levels and that everything will work out. No matter where she gets married it will be an amazing ceremony and a great start for their future.

Pulling Up

We are going to be in serious trouble very soon!! :) Tonight, Dane showed us he is a lot stronger than we had thought. Usually when he is in the bathtub he just sits there and chews on his toys. Not the case tonight. He somehow managed to pull himself up on his knees. He would do this over and over. I would put him on his bottom, and pretty soon after he would start the process all over again. He even managed to sit up straight on his knees and lean over our bathtub, which caused me to drop the camera and rush over to him to prevent him from falling. Bath time wore me out tonight! It is like over night he learned a new trick! You can say that I am getting a tad bit nervous with what is to come!! :)

My name is Jayne and I'm a HAT-O-HOLIC!

Yep I admit it. I'm not sure what has caused me recently to love baby hats, but for some reason ever since Dane was born I tend to gravitate to the hat section of every store I go into. There is a new store called crazy 8 with really cute and a cheap baby clothes. So when I saw this hat in there I couldn't pass it up. All he needs is some corduroy pants and it will be a perfect outfit for the fall!

Watch me Grow

It is hard to tell how much Dane grows from day to day, but when you go back and look at pictures from when he was younger you can definitely see a HUGE difference. These pictures are taken in the same chair...I can not believe how long he has gotten. It is actually funny to see his legs hanging off his papasan chair now. My little man is growing so fast.

It's that time again!

It is time to catch up on some blogging! It has been so busy lately with work, church activities, showers, doctor appts, etc. I feel like I have been neglecting my blogger fans! :) SO grab some popcorn and get ready to be caught up!

I haven't had any "photo shoots" lately, so thought it was time to try and get creative. Dane wasn't as cooperative as I had hoped, so therefore only a few shots were taken. He just wasn't in the picture taking mood! I don't blame him! We had a few melt downs along the way, which actually made some cute pictues!

Swing Swing Swing

It has been a few months since I took Dane to the park, and I figured since he was bigger now he would enjoy the swing more. He loves to swing...he would laugh and show us his huge dimples! It was so cute to see him having so much fun. I just wish that August in Texas wasn't quite as miserable as it is...man it was HOT!!! We definitely look forward to October weather!

Favorite Toy

Dane has a new toy...it is not something that we had to go out and buy...the simplest thing yet...

A TOOTHBRUSH HOLDER!!! yes seriously. One morning I was trying to get ready and Dane was being fussy britches. So I looked for something for him to play with, saw the toothbrush holder and gave it to him, and fussiness was gone!!! He loves it!! This toy keeps him entertained for longer than anything else. Maybe it's because it is easy to hold or the ridges on it feel good on his gums...who knows! So now this is something that is a must in his diaper bag everywhere he goes!

So maybe for Christmas there will be no need to buy anything...just get Dane a a lot of toothbrush holders!! Yeah Right! :)

BABY BLUES

I think one of Dane's best features is his big blue eyes! WATCH OUT LADIES...Dane is going to melt your heart with his baby blues. :)

Key West keepsake

Recently, my manager went to Key West for vacation with his family. The day before he was leaving I jokingly told him that I couldn't wait to see what he would bring us back as souvineers. I really didn't expect him to come back with anything, but Greg thought of Dane anyway. He had one of those street painters make Dane a key west shirt! Everybody Loves Dane!!!

Male Bonding

Kevin was trying to teach Dane how to "tackle" the UT football players on his video game...Starting Early! Dane wasn't interested in the game at all...he just wanted to play with the cord! Figures! :)

Look Out World...

Here I come!

Dane is probably a couple more months away from crawling, but here lately it seems like he is ready to just take off. He gets up on his left knee, rocks back and forth and reaches out. Usually after a couple seconds he does a face plant, but he sure does act like he is wanting to move. He hasn't quite figured out what to do with his arms and legs yet, but I have a feeling it won't be too much longer. It is about that time to start putting up baby gates and baby proofing the house! I'm not sure if we are prepared for what is to come!!

Come On Dane...You can do it!

Daddy teaching Dane how to crawl...Kevin is going to kill me when he sees that I put this on the blog!! haha

A Flash to the Past

Dane and I made another trip to good ol Orange this weekend. While there I came across this tiny rocking chair that was actually mine from when I was a little girl. I loved this rocking chair back in the day, and would rock myself in it along with all my many dolls. I thought it was neat that we still had it, and it was in decent shape considering how old it was. So I decided to bring it back with me to Houston. I'm not sure if Dane will think it is as cool as I did, but maybe if we have a girl in the future she will be able to rock her babies as well.

Here are just some pictures with my grandparents with Dane while in Orange. He always gets lots of attention whenever we visit.
