Sesame Street had a show all about Mine-IT-Is. This was the only clip I could upload from youtube, so it doesn't show the actual show... but you get the idea of what MINE-IT-IS...

And Someone... not saying any names... has Mine-it-is at our house.

MINE MINE MINE... we hear this alot!!
Arms get crossed, as he tries to hide whatever is in his hands and then he says Mine!! Sometimes, you don't even have to be going for what he has, sometimes we can be minding our own business and "someone" will say Mine Mine My Car, or My juice, just in case you thought otherwise. We usually have to bury our head to laugh so he doesn't see us, because it's quite funny how he throws his arms together and says it over and over, until you say yes it is yours. Usually, if we ask him to share with one of us he will, but he wants you to know that the toy is his! We have some work ahead with the sharing. I guess it goes with the territory of having a toddler. Don't get me wrong, he can be sweet and share without us asking him too. But, this sweet dimpled face, blue eyed lil man has learned a word that drives us absolutely crazy sometimes, but I know it will be something we can look back on and have lots of laughs!!!

David Beckham's Future Competition

Seeing how much energy my lil man has, and his obsession/love for balls I look forward to when he can play in little league sports. I believe that he will have to be 4 before he will be able to play in a real league, so we patiently wait. He absolutely loves to throw balls, bounce balls, try to catch balls, hit balls on the tee, putt balls with golf clubs and lately, he has gotten really into kicking the soccer ball. I watch him online while he is at school, and I see him kicking the ball quite often. Kevin asked his teacher if he kicks to other kids, and she said nope he will just kick it around by himself sometimes for 20 minutes or so. This makes Kevin very happy, since he played and was really good at it. Kevin loves soccer, and hopes that Dane will want to play when he is older, and he would love to be one of his coaches. Dane says "pay game" (play game) now which means he either wants to kick the soccer ball back and forth or throw and catch the football. I would love for him to play soccer or baseball, but ultimately it's his decision on what he will play. We won't be parents who force him to play something he doesn't want to play, although we do plan on introducing him to stuff, so he can see what all is out there. At this point I think it is fair to say he will be a kid who enjoys "something" with a ball. :)

Here's another fun fact about me that I am sure that not too many people know... this is Just another reason why Kevin and I are perfect for each other. ha I played soccer my junior and senior year of high school. Well, play isn't really a term I should use. I was on the team, and kept the bench company. My junior year was my high school's 1st year to ever have a girl's soccer team. So, pretty much all of the cheerleaders and drill team girls were recruited to be apart of the team. Our team was horrible...think we only won one game the entire two years, but we actually had a lot of fun.. I think it helped that we got to travel with the boy varsity team! :)

Anyway, I have found out about an organization from friends called soccertots that Kevin and I are looking into putting Dane into just for the summer. Here is what is on their website- I copied and pasted it... SoccerTots® is a franchised child physical development program that uses a variety of fun games to delight and engage kids in physical activity. The curriculum is professionally designed to develop motor skills, promote physical fitness, and create self confidence in kids and younger children. It stresses a non-competitive environment and promotes fun above all else. - They take kids as young as 18 months, and pretty much it is like a gymboree but more sports oriented. I figured he wouldn't be in school during the summer, and this would give him somewhere to run and play once a week, and give us something to do. We'll see.

We are also going to put him into swimming lessons in July. I want to start him early, because I know from experience the older you get the harder it is to learn, and the more fearful you get. He would have done it last year, but you know the whole cast thing caused an issue! I was a scaredy cat when it came to me learning to swim, and I can still remember some traumatic experiences from my lessons... like jumping off the high dive. So, I don't want him to be scared... and I really want him to become a good swimmer, because you just never know what can happen! It's going to be an interesting summer to say the least... lots going on. Someone turns 30 *ahem*, taking a trip for that someone's 30th, a trip to Vermont for Kevin's graduation... can I get a hallelujah, and then extra curricular activities may be in the mix as well.

Here's a video of my soccer player... it is a little off centered, and part of the video is cut off on the right side... I have no idea why or how to fix it... :(

Some pictures of my lil man in action

If you look close you can see Dane's lil muscle in his calf. I think this could just be the angle or something, because I don't think it;s that noticeable already... but if so this would Once again be something he got from his daddy.

Yellow Yellow Everywhere

Not to much has been going on... this is the reason I haven't had much to say lately. Today was a beautiful day, so after Dane's physical therapy we ventured over to the park. On the way I noticed yellow flowers were everywhere, and they were so pretty!! So, we pulled over to get some pictures. Dane thought picking the flowers was fun, so it was really hard to get him to look at me to take pictures. I was having to scream and act crazy. I'm sure people driving by thought I was CRAZY. I wish I would have had my assistant with me... Kevin would have made it little easier to get his attention. Anyway, Dane was pretty cute while picking the petals off each and every flower. He would say "one ower (flower), two ower, two ower, two ower". He still loves the number 2, so uses that number for everything. I love all the flowers that come out during spring time!! Makes for pretty drives. I'm wanting to take some blue bonnet pictures this year as well... last year Dane was in a cast, so it didn't happen.

Oh... something did happen today that I almost forgot about. Might as well share, so in 50 years when I am looking back and wonder why I don't have a picture for this year I will know why.
I had to take something back to the mall, and while there we saw the Easter Bunny. Well, we saw the Easter Bunny from a far. I brought Dane close to watch the kids sit on his lap, to see if maybe Dane would do it. He was happy to see the bunny from a far... he even waved to him, and said bunny hop hop. So, I thought well, let's get in line and see what happens. When it was our turn we started walking towards the bunny and Dane immediately started saying no no and was trying to fight me to get away. He was acting crazy in my arms, I can't imagine what he would have done in the Bunny's lap. So, I decided that it wasn't worth it to traumatize him, and pay for a picture where he is screaming while sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap. And I also figured that he is a lot stronger now, and the Easter Bunny may not be up for holding a kid who is screaming, kicking and throwing his back out to get down off his lap. haha So, we walked away and when we got far enough away, Dane turned around and said bye bye bunny. I thought are you kidding me?? Little stinker!

Nudist Colony Member Escapes!!!!!

He has been spotted wearing a green frog towel, that looks like a cape. Beware of lots of giggling! This nudist could be dangerous!

***The naked Jay Bird ran into Kevin's office and caused a small panic attack... See all the "neatly" "organized" piles of papers... they are for Kevin's paper that he is still working on, and didn't want the nudist or his cape to re-organize them. Hilarious... seriously one of the funniest things ever...***

Ahh to be this relaxed...

Can I just say that I am so happy that it is time to put the socks away and wear flip flops... Dane hates to wear socks, always takes them off while in the car... he loves to be barefoot and free! Bring on Spring!

Monkeying Around

My lil man is turning more and more into a little boy. He is getting more adventurous, brave and rambunctious, rowdy, rough and noisy. He loves to hang from things, climb and jump now. Feel like I am constantly holding my breath as he has no fear. Throwing all of our couch pillows on the ground and then jumping from the couch unto the floor is a common thing here now. At the park he likes to hang from the bar above the slide and swing back and forth. He has never been shown these type of things, so i think it is just in his "boy" makeup. He has so much energy, and loves for you to chase him as he runs as fast as he possibly can. He thinks jumping on the bed is just the best, and loves to throw himself around. Dane bumps his head or runs into a wall or falls pretty much every day, because of how active and crazy he can be. Sometimes I worry that people are going to think we beat him, because he always has a bruise or bump or something somewhere on his lil body. But, he is tougher than nails... I can probably count on just one hand how many times he has actually cried when he hurts himself. Usually, he just shakes it off and continues on doing the same thing that caused the bo-bo. Dane loves to be thrown up in the air or have you throw him on the bed.

We have a BOY in the house! A rough and tough Boy! And I'm not sure I know what to expect!!! if I have to predict I would say lots of panic attacks are in my future as I watch him hang from chandeliers, and slide down stair rails, and jump off trees or rooftops. Please pray for my heart... I think I'm going to need it.

Another Day With My Love

Tuesday Kevin and I spent the whole day out and about, and it turned out to be an awesome day. This day is probably in my top 10 of best days ever. Nothing was really that far from the ordinary besides the Keith concert, but it was just a fun day hanging with my hubby. We had such a good time, and neither of us wanted the day to end.

My mom talked us into leaving pretty early, so we could enjoy the day, so we ventured off to the galleria to do a little shopping and have lunch. We enjoyed some yummy food at Kona Grill. Kevin had one of his favorites... sushi with chopsticks

and I had a margarita pizza, which was covered in Fresh mozzarella, marinated tomatoes and fresh basil... delicious! Funny lil side note... the waiter brings out my pizza and it is HUGE.. as big as the table, probably 5 people could have shared it. Kevin and I both react the same way. We were shocked, because I had ordered this before at this restaurant, and it was a normal size pizza. The waiter saw our reaction and said that I had ordered the wrong pizza, that the pizza I normally get is the happy hour pizza. And I ordered off the dinner menu. Um... little confused because I ordered off the only menu that was given to me by him, and he didn't mention anything to me when I ordered. And for some reason this dinner pizza had no sauce on it... what's a pizza without sauce?? Oh and did I mention that this "dinner" pizza was like $10 more than the one I thought I was ordering. Anyhow, we got it all settled, the waiter was real nice and even took our picture to make up for it... Nothing like a waiter just snapping the picture for you instead of running to the kitchen...

After lunch we headed to the movies to see Valentine's Day... yes it is March and we are just now getting to see it. Actually this is the 1st movie that we have seen in ages! My last movie I saw was on thanksgiving with my family, but before that I can't even remember when Kevin and I have seen a movie together. We thought it was a cute movie, not with a whole lot of substance, but definitely a fun filled chick flick.

Rodeo Time!!
We headed over to the arena, got our seats and watched some of the competitions again. I was really excited to see Keith Urban in concert. Kevin and I love his music, and have all of his cds. Keith Urban plays a personal part in our relationship... we kissed for the very first time with Keith's song "I wanna Love Somebody Like you" in the background... cheesy I know, but I can't hear that song without thinking of that night. Also, on several of our road trips we would listen to Keith's music the entire way to our destination while we sang all the words. Keith Urban has several songs that we claim are "our" songs. Are you wanting to throw up yet... yeah we heart Keith Urban!

Keith Urban put on one heck of a concert!! The atmosphere and crowd was so much more lively at this concert verses Lady Antebellum. Everyone was singing along to all the songs, and would cheer ad scream when he would start singing his big hits. It was so much fun!! Keith... yeah we are on a first name basis... had so much energy, and rocked out to every song. He even got off the stage and ran around the arena shaking hands, and then got into the crowd all while playing his guitar. Awesome Awesome Awesome Concert.. can't say that enough. Kevin and I had a blast, and we could have sat through hours more than what was offered!

Just want to say thanks so much to my mom for watching Dane... Kevin and I really really needed some time alone, and we just had the best time. I love my hubby so much, so it's good to give him the attention that he deserves!!

Lady Antebellum

Kevin and I were so excited to have my mom come into town and watch Dane so we could get out and have some time just the 2 of us. It had been way too long, and we were definitely needing a date night. So, Kevin and I got to spend Monday and the entire day Tuesday together, and we just had the best time. It was like we were dating again with no responsibilities or anything that we had to do. My mom was really pushing us out of the house, wanting us to spend as much time away since we don't get to do it that often. And, I think she just wanted the lil man to herself so she could spoil him. :)

While we were getting ready to leave I heard our neighborhood ice cream truck coming through (YES we have a ice cream truck that drives through here every day after school in the spring, and all summer). And then the music sounded like it was playing out of our garage. Looked out the window and my mom and Dane were buying ice cream. This would be our first purchase from the truck... so they enjoyed ice cream sandwiches outside. And Dane had no problems saying bye bye to us. He knew he was about to hang out with Granny, and all things were fine.

So, before we went to the rodeo Monday, we went to my all time favorite restaurant, Escalantes. It is a Mexican restaurant, but is no where near where we live, and by far they have the BEST queso. Kevin asked if I wanted to go somewhere nice, but I just wanted Escalantes! I have to have it if we are on that side of town. We hung out there for a while, and had so much fun. We just really enjoyed laughing and cutting up. We had some funny people sitting near us, so we tend to people watch quite a bit and crack some jokes. Kevin and I have this thing where we always try to take a picture of ourselves by holding the camera out in front of us. Not sure why we keep attempting this, because we NEVER get a good pic out of it. But, we continue to do it, because I am determined. We asked the lady who re-filled our chips to take our picture, and she ran off and went into the kitchen... seriously. We cracked up. It was almost like she didn't know what to do... or maybe she didn't speak English... not sure, but it was funny.

Here are some of my attempts to get a cute pic...

After spending some time re-connecting at the restaurant we headed over to the rodeo. We got there little early so we could watch some of the bull riding and all that other stuff they do. Clueless when it comes to horses jumping over barrels. We found a parking spot pretty close to the arena... we were feeling lucky! My favorite part was watching the little kids ride the sheep... not sure what the point of this event is, but they are so cute. They were 5 year olds, and I think that every single one of them got a trophy. It was hilarious to watch though... these little kids get put on a sheep, and hold on for dear life as the sheep ran across to the other side. Like how does a parent just decide um I think I may put my child in the sheep racing contest? funny concept.

Then it was time for the concert... Lady Antebellum put on a great concert. I really love their music and they did not disappoint me with the live show. I love watching concerts at the rodeo.. it is a total different atmosphere than just a regular concert. Lady Antebellum has a really cool vibe, and they just totally rocked it out. Kevin and I had a blast. We did sit by a HESHE or a SHIM which ever you prefer. I seriously couldn't figure out if it was a HE or SHE. Not only was it a HESHE, but it had the best mullet that we have ever seen!! You all know what a mullet is right? It's the hair style that is BUSINESS IN THE FRONT, PARTY IN THE BACK?? But, this was the ultimate mullet... like if you look up in the dictionary the word mullet you would see this picture. I wish that I would have taken a picture.. but I was kind of scared though that it might beat me up... It was like a bad wreck.. you don't want to look, but you just can't seem to turn your eyes away. Good times!! The people watching at the rodeo can always be entertaining!! Lots of rednecks attend these functions!
Some pics of the band...

Monday night was awesome... and we had even a better time Tuesday... but you have to wait for that post about Tuesday until tomorrow! Sorry! I'm tired!
