Things have been winding down since we have been home from vacation. Last week Dane went to Orange for a few days to hang out with Granny and Poppy while Kevin and I had to get back in the swing of working. It's hard getting back to reality after vacation. After I got off Friday I drove to get Dane and then we spent half the weekend hanging out with family. We came back to Houston Saturday afternoon, and spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and doing a little organizing to get us ready for school.
Dane has gone to a day camp this week that Cy-Fair provides for employee's kids. He has enjoyed doing that and has gotten to play with other kids while getting back into the routine of getting up early and having a "structured" day. Monday afternoon we hit up the movie theater and saw the new movie Planes. Cute movie.
Here's some cell pics of the last few days...
Sunday Dane walked into the kitchen and told me this was what he was going to wear that day to run errands. No words. No words.
He was really disappointed when I told him absolutely not. I mean dude... you are in your underwear. Sigh. I'd like to say he gets his fashion sense from his dad. Pretty fair statement, I think. :)
All Dane wanted from Disney World was an Indiana Jones hat. He already had a whip, so he got the hat and satchel. Combine that with his cowboy belt/gun holster and boots and you got yourself a pretty cute little Indiana Jones.
Dane spent some time "organizing" his school supplies. He put them in the backpack. Then took them out. And then put them in the backpack. Then took them out. And repeated about 45 more times. Very Very Very excited for school to start. He looks soooo big with his backpack on his back.
Tonight was Meet the Teacher. Can not believe Dane will be in Kindergarten in 3 days. 3 days!!! His teacher, Mrs Truett seems to be very nice and sweet. Praying for a good year for the little dude.
As we were getting ready to leave the house Dane started whining that he wanted to change his shirt that he was wearing. He was adamant that the t-shirt he was wearing was not cool, and he wanted to wear a "cool" shirt to meet his teacher. No idea I had a kid who cared even the slightest bit about the clothes that we wears. Normally, he could care less what he has on. Hence the picture above. Ha So, after telling him that he did look cool he got emotional... like a teenage girl meltdown. Needless to say I let him change shirts before running out the door. Don't sweat the small stuff, right? He got to wear a new t-shirt, and that seemed to make it all better.
Dane wanted to put his supplies in the correct place all by himself.
He seemed so big sitting at his desk.
3 more days and the school year starts!!
