Last week I did some volunteering at Dane's school by taking some pictures for the upcoming yearbook. I volunteered with another mom and we split up all that needed to be done for the yearbook. My job was to go around taking candid pictures of students while in PE, Music and Art, and also pictures of the office staff. I went 2 days, and spent a couple hours both days to make sure that I got multiple grade levels in the photos. I got to see Dane do his thing in PE. He was super excited that I was there and wanted me to really pay attention to their exercises they were involved in. I know there will come a time that he will be extremely traumatized and embarrassed having his mother at his school, but I'm loving that in first grade he still thinks it's pretty cool.
The 2nd biggest fundraiser for Dane's school is their Spring Festival. Their fun run in the fall is their biggest fundraiser, but the festival brings in a ton of money for the school and is super fun for the kids. This year it was on a Friday night vs Saturday and it was bigger than ever. There were more inflatables this year, more games and food, and a whole lot more people. But, it was a great night. The weather was fantastic, and Dane had a blast!!
Aiden, Dane & Josh buddies in his class
Jace had a blast too. He loved being outside, and was content the entire time in his stroller. He kept doing this funny thing where he would yell real loud and then when you looked down at him he would laugh and laugh.
At the end of the night we were ready to go and Dane still had a couple tickets left, so we thought an easy way to get rid of them was to do the cake walk. Well, Dane ended up winning and got the biggest cupcake there was with a ton of icing. He was in heaven! Of course this came after he had popcorn and a snow cone. I'd say that he thought he was a BIG winner that night! So fun!
