Jace had his 1 year check up the Monday after his birthday. Going into the appointment I knew it was going be a doozie. He would require 4 vaccines and blood drawn out of his finger. Jace had been running fever for a couple days beforehand and was extra clingy and emotional, so having to get shots when you already didn't feel well broke this momma's heart. On top of that he had started limping for no apparent reason for several days beforehand. I had flashbacks to when Dane learned to walk and had a noticeable limp and we all know how that turned out, so I was pretty nervous going into this doctor appointment. Thankfully Jace's hips were fine, and after the doctor did extensive evaluating and moving his legs and he had full range of motion he decided that it was probably a pulled muscle and would heal itself. Poor little guy had ear infections in both ears.
Besides being a little sick Jace is healthy and growing just like he should be.
I was shocked by his weight, really thought it was going to be more than it was. But, the days leading up to the doctor appointment Jace didn't have much of an appetite so wasn't eating as much as he normally does. So, I think that played a little bit into his weight being down.
The stats for my records:
At birth- 6 lbs 4 oz 19 3/4 inches long
1 week- 5 lbs 12 oz
2 weeks - 6 lbs 5 oz
Almost 3 months - 12 lbs 10.5 oz 22 3/4 inches long
6 months - 18 lbs 5 oz 26 inches long
9 months - 21 lbs 5.5 oz 27.5 inches long
1 year - 21 lbs 14.3 oz 50 percentile 29.5 inches long 35 percentile
Isn't it amazing how much babies grow in just one quick year. It blows my mind that he grew approximately 10 inches in just one year!
