July 4th

We had a good 4th this year, filled with the typical activities that most do on that holiday.  Parade, swimming with friends, hamburgers on the grill and watching fireworks to end the day.

When we were leaving our house to go to the neighborhood parade Dane saw this hat in my closet and wanted to wear it.  Why? I have no idea.  Because it's Dane and he's silly.

I guess this is going to be the typical photo now when I ask Dane to take a picture with his brother.  Cracks me up.

We were dying of a heat stroke.  Man alive it was so hot and humid.  But, an angel sang Hallelujah when a truck in the parade threw out Popsicles.  Nothing like a cold frozen popsicle when it's 130 degrees outside.  And it was the perfect little trick to keep Jace still for a solid 15 minutes or so.  It was a 4th of July miracle.  :)

Swimming and eating light saber popsicles is a fun way to spend the 4th.

And eating USA cupcakes that has mountains of icing that will stain your face for weeks at a time is an added bonus.

A nice man who was sitting near us at the fireworks had a brilliant idea to bring a snow cone machine and hand out free snow cones to anyone who wanted one while we waited for it to get dark.

Happy Birthday America!!
